Labor & Birth
-
Consultation: a (free) 30-minute virtual or in-person consultation to get to know each other and see if we are a good fit. Your comfort during pregnancy and labor are of the utmost importance to me.
Once we establish an agreement to work together, we will move forward and plan our next visit.
Prenatal Visits: Before the baby arrives, we will spend time together building a relationship. (While called “prenatals,” these are different from appointments with your OBGYN or Midwife). I will learn about you, your family, your birth preferences, and how I can make your pregnancy & birth as smooth and empowering as possible. I come prepared with information and physical exercises to share with you (think of these as coffee dates with a side of education). Most of all, I will create an emotionally safe space for you to ask questions, share what’s on your heart, and feel heard and loved.
I offer 2 prenatal visits (typically spaced throughout the third trimester) that last 90 minutes each. We’ll work together to choose the days, times, and location that work best.
If you have a partner and they can make it, bring them! My goal is to build an authentic relationship that allows us to feel comfortable and safe together prior to delivery.
Here's an outline of some of the topics we'll cover during our prenatal visits:
Visit 1
Check in
Birth goals and vision
How to advocate for yourself and your baby during appointments
Identify your personal labor preferences
Practice comfort measures
Optimal fetal positioning
Packing for the hospital or birth center, or preparing your home for a home birth
Visit 2
Check in
Childbirth education, including physiological changes and stages of labor
Begin to write down birth preferences
What is "normal" (spoiler: everyone’s different!)
Provide insight for partners and support persons
Common interventions and induction methods
Lactation
Newborn expectations
Postpartum healing
Postpartum nutrition
Postpartum planning
Although I have prepared a general outline for our visits, I'm here for you and I'm flexible. We can talk about whatever you'd like during our prenatals. While information can be helpful, sometimes clients prefer to treat this as a time to explore emotions, questions, and feelings!
After our prenatal visits conclude, I will be on call for your labor. This means that no matter what time of day you begin labor, I will be there to answer questions and support you. Generally, I join my clients when they are in active labor.
I will be on call for you starting at your 37th week of pregnancy until the baby is born.
I offer continuous support from the start to the end of labor. In addition to emotional support for you and your partner (if applicable), I will guide you into different laboring positions to help with pain, advocate for you and make sure you have the information you need, and stay with you up to 2 hours after the baby arrives.

Placenta Encapsulation
-
The purpose of placenta encapsulation is to reintroduce essential hormones, vitamins, and minerals back into your body during your recovery period. Then, I'll bring it to your home, along with a 4oz tincture.

Pre & Postnatal Yoga
-
Being present in the moment, and learning to integrate your mind, body, and heart, are helpful not only in everyday life, but especially during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period. Yoga is an effective way to accomplish this, and can be a lifelong skill and practice.
The benefits of yoga are endless. It helps us to:
reduce stress and promote relaxation (both of which are key for labor)
lower blood pressure
breathe!!!
reduce the risk of preterm labor and other complications
stabilize mood
reduce pain and discomfort in a changing body
promote sounder sleep
create more space for your growing baby
promote healing (physically, emotionally, and spiritually) in postpartum
be present and self-compassionate
feel joy and strength
bring balance to your systems and life
improve circulation
I offer private and group yoga practices tailored to your body’s needs. Having lower back problems from growing a baby? We’ll focus on relieving discomfort in that targeted area. Having a hard time with anxiety and stress about labor? We’ll get you into positions that prepare your body to do what it’s built to do: birth! Having a difficult time staying present or feeling safe? We’ll work on breathing and meditation techniques to help you embrace your calm and power.
Yoga sessions can be added on to either the Labor & Birth or Postpartum packages, or can be arranged separately. Let’s move and flow together!

$30/hour per session.
Belly Binding
-
When pregnant, the body grows and stretches to accommodate your baby. Organs move out of their normal position, and your abdominal muscles separate to make space.
After giving birth, those muscles and organs need help moving back to their original position. Belly binding the abdomen and the hips provides support to your pelvic floor, as well as holds muscle and ligaments safely in place as your body heals.
I will come to your home within a week of delivery, wrap you securely, and teach your support person how to reapply the cloth to ensure maximum healing.

Grandparent Classes
-
I will sit down with the parents and grandparents-to-be and talk through recent developments in newborn sleep practices, feeding, safety, and more. I emphasize how to best care support the new parents - and not just the baby - to ensure that boundaries are respected and that everyone is on the same page!
-
$40 per one-hour class.
